Planning for Winona’s Future:
As Winona Camps approaches its 120th season in 2027, we’re looking back with gratitude, and forward with purpose. Since 1908, Winona has offered boys from around the world the chance to grow through adventure, friendship, and life in the outdoors.
To ensure this continues for generations to come, we’re transitioning Winona from private family ownership to a nonprofit foundation: the Winona Camps Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization guided by a mission-driven Board of Directors. This structure will guarantee that Winona remains a camp forever.
This change will not alter the Winona experience. The traditions, staff, and community you know will continue to thrive on the shores of Moose Pond. Spencer and Laura will remain in their leadership roles, and the camp will maintain its close relationship with our sister camp, Wyonegonic.
This next step also opens exciting possibilities for alumni connection—reunions, communications, and ways to support the foundation’s work to preserve Winona’s mission.
With gratitude and optimism,
Spencer Ordway and Laura Ordway
brother–sister Winona Director Team
